Who we are
Naughty Necessities is a UK editorial site for adults (18+) publishing lingerie and intimate-wellness gift guides and shortlists. Naughty Necessities is the data controller for this site. For privacy queries, email hello@getnaughtynecessities.com.
What we collect
- Server & security logs — standard hosting logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and reliability.
- Age-gate preference — a local browser flag may be stored so we do not re-prompt on every visit after you confirm you are 18+.
- Analytics: we use cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics (Umami, self-hosted on our own server). It sets no cookies, does not store IP addresses or personal data, and only produces anonymous, aggregated statistics (pages viewed, referrer, device/browser type and approximate country).
- Email signups: when our email list opens, sign-ups will be handled by Brevo, acting as our data processor. We’ll only use your email address to send what you asked for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Affiliate links & cookies (including Amazon)
Some pages include affiliate links to UK retailers. When you click through:
- Amazon.co.uk — links to Amazon.co.uk may set or read cookies and similar technologies so Amazon can track that you were referred from our site and attribute qualifying purchases. See Amazon’s privacy notice on amazon.co.uk for how Amazon processes data.
- Other programmes — Lovehoney and similar partners (e.g. Impact, AWIN) may also use cookies or redirect tracking when you follow those links. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not invent affiliate tracking IDs; tagged links are only used after a programme issues them.
Cookies
Our own analytics are cookieless. Essential cookies or local storage may support the age gate and basic site function. Third-party cookies may be set by Amazon or other retailers only after you click their links. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some referral attribution may then fail.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
If we hold personal data about you, you may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. For Amazon’s processing of referral data, contact Amazon directly.
Children
This site is strictly 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above will change when we do.
